50 Caliber; fair bore, good stock, 4'' barrel, Circa 1840s percussion pistol, manufactured by Richard Constable of Philadelphia. Blue finish octagon barrel has two British proofs on the right angled bottom flat and is engraved on top "CONSTABLE PHILADELPHIA". Checkered walnut stock, silver mounted with simple scroll leaf and border engraving. Small compartment on the butt for an extra nipple. Original walnut ramrod held with a single pipe on rib. The entry hole for the ramrod appears to have an old repair. Dovetailed silver front sight blade. The barrel has turned blue/gray patina with some spotting. The upper tang screw is a possible replacement. The action works well. Smoothbored barrel. We have a Constable rifle is stock as well. Antique.Product Videos
