Product Description
9x19mm; 97% blue, very good+ bore, very good+ grips, 4 7/8'' barrel, Early first variation Zero Series pistol with concealed extractor and "square" firing pin. Original high polish blued commercial type finish with the original e/359 proofed and matching number checkered grips. Pistol is all matching to include the magazine. Eagle/359 proofs are visible and located on the small parts, hammer, trigger, slide catch, takedown lever, trigger bar and firing pin cover. Eagle/359 proofs are also located on the left side of the frame, right side of the barrel lug and twice on the right side of the slide flanking an eagle/swaztika military acceptance mark. The left side of the slide is stamped with the Mauser banner logo. "P.38" and serial number. The matching magazine is stamped on the left side near the base with the matching number followed by a +, indicating this was the extra magazine issued with the gun originally. Two side by side e/359 proofs are located at the bottom edge of the spine. The metal finish shows mainly sharp edge wear with some holstering wear on high points. And a few minor handling scratches. Included with this P.38 is an original hard shell brown leather holster which is in very near excellent condition. Clearly marked on the reverse "H. BECKER u.Co./BERLIN/1940" with an eagle/WaA14 proof. Under the flap a takedown tool pouch has been added, which contains a bore brush. This modification likely done after the pistol was issued. Also included is an extra non-matching magazine, marked on the left side "P.38/ac" and numbered on the bottom of the base lip "7499". This rig is in exceptional condition and obviously never did see much field use. Also included is an original letter of authentication dated 2009 from Robert C Simpson., s/n 04xx
