54 Caliber; good bore, good stock, 28.25'' barrel, Manufactured circa 1850. Marked on the side of the lockplate "R. CONSTABLE" and on top of the barrel "R. CONSTABLE PHILADELPHIA". Browned finish octagon barrel has been shortened to length long ago with the bottom rib repaired/soldered at the end. Silver blade front sight. Dovetailed rear sight. Walnut stock with checkered wrist, cheekrest, bone forend cap and single wedge. Double set triggers. Ramrod appears to be tne original. Silver cap box on the right side of the stock with toeplate release. Silver inlay acorns on the cheekrest and silver inlay oval initial plate on top of the wrist. Additional silver inlay plates added, one on the left side stock flat and another on top of the stock with a previous owners initials. The lock functions fine. AntiqueProduct Videos
